Flexi-baffle selection for round culverts
First, select the diameter of the culvert:
*150mm high baffles are also available and are suitable for flat bottom culverts and round culverts with a diameter over 1800mm.
Flexi-baffle selection for box culverts and aprons.
- For wide structures, baffles can be positioned end on end.
- The baffles can be full width to give maximum depth or have a gap at the end to provide a low-flow swim path.
Next, select the gradient/degrees of the culvert:
Notes:
– The above tables are guides only.
– Longer baffles can be used but may need to be offset to ensure water flows around the end/s before overtopping.
– If there are changes in gradient, baffle spacing can be increased/decreased through the culvert.
Flexi-baffles for culverts <900mm will probably need to be fitted before the culvert is installed.
